Playing Gina Ward since Playing Gina Ward since 1993, Tricia is Heartbeat's original barmaid. Apart from acting though, Tricia is a keen singer and has also appeared in many magazines due to her  personal life, happily married to presenter Mark Simpkin.

Singing Careear

'Where did our love go?'

When she was younger Tricia and her mother Sue, would sing in local clubs and pubs under the name 'second image'. Tricia later sang in another duo which also played locally in Tricia's native Liverpool.  

After joining Heartbeat in 1992, Tricia released her first single in 1996 with a cover of the sixties song 'Where did our love go' originally sung by The Supremes in 1964. She performed this track on Heartbeat around the time of the release. The music video for 'where did our love go' featured the heartbeat cast and was shown in the heartbeat museum before its closure - you can watch it below -

'Don't wanna be alone'

Tricia tried again  to break into the music business in 2000 when releasing 'Don't wanna be alone' a brand new song, written specially for Tricia, she was set to make it big. A stunning music video was released however, the song only reached #40 at the charts. Tricia was planning on releasing an album 'Mesmerized' but there were problems with the record company, and according to interviews Tricia herself was not happy with the album so sadly, no album was ever released.

Eurovision dreams

In 2002 Tricia reached the final of 'A Song for Europe'  (the competition to select the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry) by entering in with a very catchy song 'DJ Romeo' - however she came second place and did not win the chance to be the UK entry for Eurovision.

'Will you still love me tomorrow?'

In 2005 Tricia began working along side the talented singer Murray Head when he played Gina's new love interest, an artist called Jack Hollins in Heartbeat. When Head released his album 'Emotions' he did a duet with Tricia for the first song on the new album. The pair recorded 'Will you still love me tomorrow' and a single cover was released however, the single was not available in shops, the song can only be heard on Murray Head's album, Emotions.

'As seen on Fame academy'

In 2007 Tricia appeared on the ever popular 'Comic Relief does Fame Academy' and came in second place to Tara Palmer Tompkinson. The pair are still good friends and through Fame Academy Tricia has released an album 'Song's from Fame Academy' sold only through her own official website www.triciapenrose.co.uk. The album contains many sixties songs plus her released single 'Where did our love go'.


Jewellery Collection

In 2006, Tricia launched her official site www.triciapenrose.co.uk, she also started a Jewellery range which did very well - Tricia really enjoyed designing her own 'bling' however, simply does not have the time to re-launch the jewellery with two sons to look after.  

In 2010 it was announced that her jewellery range would be sold on 'Ocean Village' cruise ships - selected ships only sell her pieces according to Tricia's husband Mark Simpkin's official company website at

Hello! to Tricia

Tricia has been in all the top magazines since she joined Heartbeat however, the most memorable for the talented actress will probably be her wedding to Mark Simpkin in 2003 featured in HELLO!

The birth of her two boys, Jake and Freddy have also featured in HELLO! plus Jake's christening and how Mark and Tricia first met. The most recent event to feature in HELLO! was the christening of baby Freddy, this magazine release was both a happy and a sad time for fans as it mentioned the fact that Heartbeat was no longer in production making the photographs featuring Tricia with her acting friends more special.

Diet Tips

Tricia has appeared in many magazines talking about how she has lost weight and gives useful diet tips so others can try her diets. Since Tricia's 'Before and After body blitz' DVD, she has done many interviews such as the ones below and been on the front of Closer a number of times showing the results of her hard work. Tricia launched a workout DVD in 2008 - Tricia's Before and After Body Blitz is a selection of fat burning routines designed to burn fat and tone up the body, its also very fun!

The future and beyond...

According to 'Simply media', Tricia is to appear in Celebrity Master chef in 2010. Tricia has also expressed a desire to do dancing - she said she would love to take part in 'strictly come dancing' in the future!
